Sparrow Photography is very excited to be participating in the Wedding Hive’s “An Enchanted Wedding” event Thursday, February 25 at Artstech, at 1522 Holmes. Some of the most amazing and creative wedding vendors in the city will be there, from dress designers and jewelry makers to floral designers and graphic artists. And of course photographers.
This is truly a special group of people, and it’s a bridal show unlike any other. If you’re looking for creative people to help make your wedding unique, don’t miss this event.

Kansas City Engagement Photography | Sally & Eli

Erica and I took Sally and Eli down to Union Station for their engagement portraits. It was a very, very cold day, so the warm and visually interesting environment was very welcome. Sally and Eli were great to work with, and open to all of our ideas – even some that were slightly unusual for an engagement session.
Sally & Eli really wanted to take photos here, after seeing the “Baggage” sign. I thought about this for a few seconds, before coming up with the “rolling suitcase” idea you see here. Everybody had a really hard time keeping a straight face through this part of the shoot.

Now’s the time to be planning for Valentine’s Day, and Sparrow Photography is here to help! Sunday, January 31, we will be doing boudoir shoots at the amazing new Aloft Hotel in Leawood.

Kansas City Engagement Photography | Trish & Pete

Trish and Pete are one of those couples that’s just fun to be around. Very playful, adoring and just comfortable with each other. This made for an easygoing and fun shoot.
Last night Erica and I met them on the Plaza for our session. The weather finally got warmer after what, a month of near 0-degree temperatures? Last night’s 30-something temps felt positively balmy, though of course a lot of the pretty snow had melted away. Trish is from Minneapolis, so she was ready for shorts!
Window shopping for rings is fun!
It didn't take much prodding to get them to kiss. And kiss. And kiss...

Kansas City Boudoir Photography | Valentine’s Day Photos

Boy, it seems like we just got done throwing away the wrapping paper from Christmas, but one of my favorite holidays is only a month away: Valentine’s Day! I really enjoy this holiday because clients often come in looking for sexy photos for their boyfriends, girlfriends or spouses, and this allows us to exercise our creativity in all sorts of fun ways!
We absolutely love taking photographs on location, whether it be your home, a fancy hotel or some other place you find special. No cookie-cutter photos with generic backdrops here!
These photos are from Saturday evening. The client is from out of town, so little danger these will be seen by the wrong eyes before the big day!
